Callum Web & Design
My interest in web development started back in 2012. At the time, I enjoyed playing online games, but I was always curious about what was going on behind the scenes. How did everything work? How were all these different features made? It was something I really wanted to understand.
So, in my spare time at home, I started teaching myself how to code. I began with HTML and CSS, experimenting with different things and seeing what I could create. As I got more confident, I moved on to PHP and MySQL, learning how the more complicated parts of a website worked.
I was completely self-taught, and I'll be honest, I absolutely loved it. The fact that you could sit there writing code and turn it into something real that actually worked amazed me. I'd spend hours trying new things, making mistakes, figuring out what went wrong and giving it another go. I wasn't doing it to make money or start a business. It was simply something I really enjoyed.
For years, that's all it was — a hobby.
Then, over the last few years, people started asking me if I could help them with their websites. At first, I was nervous. It was one thing building something for myself, but having somebody trust me with their business was completely different.
I was proud, though, and after completing a few websites, my confidence really started to grow. I realised that the work I was producing could stand alongside websites that people were being quoted a lot more money for.
That's when I thought, why not take something I've loved doing for years and use it to help people without charging them a fortune?
One of my favourite things about building websites now is knowing what a difference they can make to somebody's business. Something that starts as code on my screen can end up helping someone get their name out there, look more professional and hopefully bring in new customers. I find that really rewarding.
And that's really how Callum Web & Design came about.
I like to keep things simple. If you get in touch, we'll have a chat about your business, what kind of website you need and any ideas you've got. Whether it's a straightforward business website, an online shop or something a bit more custom, we'll work out what suits you and agree on a fair price.
I'm not here to sell you things you don't need or charge silly money. I just want to build websites I'm proud of, help people with their businesses and make sure we're both happy with the end result.
What started as a hobby back in 2012 is still something I genuinely love doing today.
Got an idea?
I can help with that.
Whether you're starting from scratch or giving an old website some much-needed love, here's the sort of stuff I enjoy getting stuck into.
These are some of the tools behind the websites I make.
From a website built from scratch to a redesign, an online shop or useful extras like booking and enquiry forms — I enjoy the whole process.
Less talking.
More showing.
Every business is different, and that's the fun part. Here are a couple of projects I've enjoyed working on.
Got something in mind?
I'd love to hear it.
